As we head into September, we take a look at the most sought-after positions of the current time.

As stated by LinkedIn earlier this month, though the economic recovery from COVID-19 is moving at an uneven and uncertain pace, hiring rates around the world have continued to slowly rebound.

This is consistent with what we’ve noticed here at Hansen Filler and is great news for our team and others across the industry. We’ve been working hard throughout the pandemic to maintain the relationships that we’ve built over a number of years, and, once organisations are ready to begin to hire externally again, feel that we’re better placed than ever to deliver the highest calibre people and change professionals to our clients.

So, where is the demand across the market and where are we seeing requirements as we reach the end of summer?

LinkedIn’s research suggests that advisory jobs have seen some of the biggest spikes in demand over the past month. There is certainly also a demand for Sales/Business Development professionals as organisations look to bounce back from the effects of the last few months.

At Hansen Filler, we’ve seen a positive shift in the market over the past 6 weeks and organisations seem to have quickly adapted to the challenges of interviewing/onboarding candidates without ever having met them face to face.

Due to COVID-19 and other factors, many companies are having to transform in more ways than ever before. When you combine pandemic-related challenges with ongoing mergers and acquisitions, the development of new technologies, organisational restructuring and regulatory related change, it has quickly become apparent that very few businesses have all of the skills required in-house to cope.

Since lockdown, Hansen Filler has supported a range of businesses with such challenges by providing trusted interim solutions. Common skill sets that businesses are requiring include Organisational Design and Effectiveness specialists, HR Business Partners, Transformation/Change Manager’s and across certain sectors, Interim Talent Acquisition professionals. From a permanent perspective, Hansen Filler has been briefed on a number of senior generalist and specialist positions, suggesting confidence is returning. Whilst ‘Digital’ can be seen as a bit of a buzzword, what’s consistent across almost all of the roles that we’re working on is how organisations can utilise technology better to drive efficiency within the organisation and also provide a better service to customers. To find out how we can tailor our unique Executive Search model to meet your hiring needs, contact us here.

When it comes to working arrangements, the majority of businesses still appear to have a remote first policy, with no plans to return to the office consistently until September at the earliest and in some cases before mid 2021. Many organisations are redefining working arrangements, with days in the office in the future being prioritised to focus on collaboration/strategy and day to day tasks continuing to be performed from home.

All in all, there seems to be a more positive outlook across the market, which is good for our industry and candidates alike! If you are looking for a new role, or a client interested in having a conversation around how Hansen Filler can support you, please feel free to get in touch.
